Lobby is the leading arts, crafts, and home dcor
retail store in the marketplace. Due to the
large number of locations and future expansions,
energy management became an issue. Today, Hobby
Lobby manages each stores energy management
separately. Without an enterprise wide energy
management system
implemented, Hobby Lobby would be at a crisis
level. With this issue in mind, Hobby Lobby set
out to locate an organization that could provide
an energy management solution that would meet
todays cost reduction requirements and the future
growth plans in building new stores.

selecting which energy management company to
choose, Hobby Lobby met with several, including
TEMSCO Solutions. Hobby Lobby was looking for a

in the energy management field. Hobby Lobby wanted

for its current network of stores and future
building projects. In the initial meeting, TEMSCO

The Solution Saves Thousands of Dollars in Monthly
Energy Costs

By
working with TEMSCO Solutions, Hobby Lobby now has
temperature and lighting
controls interfaced into its Company network.
Hobby Lobby can manage these controls from a
single computer desktop connected to the Internet.
This allows Hobby Lobby to monitor and control the
energy in all 107 stores, nationwide, with 10 more
under construction, from its headquarters in
Oklahoma City. With a 22,658,350 kWh reduction and
a 17,334 tons of greenhouse gases removed, Hobby
Lobby will realize a ROI of 40% for the initial
107 stores and a 37% ROI with 117 stores. Over the
next ten years, Hobby Lobby will have a projected
savings of $10 million. TEMSCO Solutions has an
innovative and successful track history with
energy automation. Since the relationship between
Hobby Lobby and TEMSCO Solutions in 2003, Hobby
Lobby has experienced a dramatic decrease in our
energy costs while obtaining greater control of

TEMSCO

management field. Hobby Lobby is building an
average of 30-35 new stores per year that will
include TEMSCO Solutions energy management
systems. Along with the new constructions, TEMSCO
Solutions will retrofit other existing Hobby Lobby
locations to implement the energy management
systems.
